House. Largely of C16 or early C17 but evidence of an earlier house at west. Flint
and brick dressed walls and red pantiled roof. Symmetrical north facade with central
porch balanced by two stair turrets, 2 storeys. Mullioned and transomed windows
withleaded lights : one to each floor of west turret; 2 to each floor of the bay to
west of porch; one to porch first floor; 2 to ground floor and one to first floor of
bay to east of porch; west stair turret with two 2-light casement; west bay blank.
Four- centred plastered brick arch to porch. Through passage and screens partly
remade C20. To east kitchen range with C20 staircase. To west hall with parlour
beyond. Unstopped chamfered cross beams and spine beams to ground and first floor
rooms at west, except hall with a cross beam only. Chamfered stone jambed fire
surrounds with wooden bressumer beams. First floor room above parlour with brick
chamfered fireplace plastered. Much C17 and C18 stile and mutin panelling. West
turret staircase in situ; east turret stairs removed. Rear with ground floor 5-light
mullioned hall window 3 mullined casements and one 3-light C18 casement and two sashes
with glazing bars; first floor one mullioned casement to west, 5 sashes with glazing
bars and one 2-light wooden mullioned window.
