TG 32 NE INGHAM PALLING ROAD

2/29 Barns at Old Hall Farm

3 connected barns aligned roughly east-west. Late C17 to mid C18. Flint
and brick with brick dressings. Corrugated asbestos roof. Western barn with
central full height double timber doors flanked by stepped buttresses. One
sloping buttress further to left. Slit ventilation light to right of concrete
and brick C20 outbuilding and 2 slit ventilation lights to left. 4 wider
ventilation slits to rear and opposing doors. Central barn similar but with
4 buttresses and slit ventilation lights all blocked. Eastern barn has
pilaster strips to right and left of full height double timber doors. One
slit ventilation light right and left again, that to right blocked. Gabled
roofs. Roof structure of tie beams on arched braces or knuckle braces. 2
tiers taper-tenoned butt purlins and collars throughout. Old Hall Farmhouse
not listed.
