Residential home for elderly, formerly farmhouse. Built 1789 as miller's
house for adjoining windmill. Gault brick facade, colourwashed red brick
returns. Roof of concrete corrugated tiles. 3 storeys in 3 bays, central
bay broken forward. Pilasters to corners of elevation. Cnetral door in
panelled reveals below 5-vaned fanlight. Curved Doric portico porch on fluted
columns and pilasters. Sash windows with subsidiary glazing bars and gauged
skewback arches, those arches to centre bay with segmental centres. Timber
eaves cornice and central pediment on consoles. Hipped roof with side stacks
east and west.
