Early C18 house, since much altered. Probably built by and named after Robert Bacon,
carpenter who owned the house in 1703. The staircase is of this date. The rear
elevation of the house is faced with red brick and flints, but the front has been
stuccoed at a later date. Eaves dentil cornice. Mostly slate roof, but some tiles at
rear. Glazing bars missing. Two large C19 bays on ground floor. Doorway with
pilasters and pediment.
