TG 03 SE BRISTON

4/11 Roper Farmhouse.

II

Farmhouse. Mid C17 and c.1700 of 2 builds. Flint with brick dressings at
west, brick to east, red pantiled roof. Earlier lobby entrance 2 storey house
at west with east addition of c.1700 doubling length. Ground floor 4 C20
windows and 3 C20 doors. First floor 4 C20 casements, 2 at lintel level
perhaps reproducing earlier rectangular openings. East gable brick with brick
coped Dutch gable and end stack. Off-centre stack to west. Interior: earlier
house with stopped and chamfered cross beams and one ground floor room with
chamfered spine beam. Single storey brick lean-to at east.
