TF 93 SE THURSFORD

2/107 Thursford Old Hall.

House, formerly service wing of a C16 house altered in 1857, sold and demolished
after 1916. 1857, for Scott-Chad family. High Victorian Jacobethan red brick
with cement dressings, red fish-scale pattern tiled roof. 2 storey 'H'
plan with double pile centre cross wings. West front 4 bay centre, 3 ground
and 4 first floor casements with cement quoins and pediments. Porch with
entrance and side arches. Dutch gable, cement dressings. Ground floor plinth,
first floor casement platband, elaborate brick corbelling eaves cornice. Down
pipes with "S-C 1857". North and south gables single casements either side
of external stacks all with cement dressings, stone corbels and shaped gables.
North gable with chimneys of 2 shafts with star pattern projections coping
set of 3 to ridge, 2 to north east gable. South west corner with
2 to gable, 2 to ridge. Cross wing front pile with 2 sets of 2 stacks, rear
pile with plinth only of 4 stack set. House formerly attached at south east
corner.
