House and barn with connecting walls, gates and gate piers. C17 with C19
details and restoration. Red brick, red pantiles. To south, house; single
storey with attics. North front to yard 4 3-light C20 casements, off-centre
C20 brick porch, 4 C20 dormers. Brick plinth, partly interrupted moulded brick
eaves. South front, C20 ground floor openings, moulded eaves, 2 gabled
dormers with crow-stepped parapets. Brick kneelers and crow-stepped gables,
west gable with 2 moulded brick or terracotta attic sound-hole openings, C20
stack. Mid C19 3 bay single storey stable with crow-stepped gables attached
at west; attached to north 2 brick and battlemented walls with 2 gates and
gate piers on axis, connected to north with barn, forming enclosed rectangular
courtyard. To north, barn; south front with 3 inserted cement dressed mid
C19 carriage arches, 2 loft windows above. To west ground floor boarded door
2 C20 windows above. Kneelers and crow-stepped gables, at east gable sound
hole opening with Gothic tracery, lean-to at west with crow-stepped parapet
to south end only. Barn roof, 6 bays, butt-purlins wind-bracing, 4 tie beams
resting on wall plate. Formerly stable court of Thursford Hall.
