Watermill over River Bure. Dated 1699 on sluice arch. White colourwashed
brick. Weather-boarded 3rd storey; slate roof, c1880. Ground floor: 2
doors, one with reeded doorcase c1800. One door to 1st floor. Scattered
fenestration. White painted weather-boarded 3rd storey has 3 casement
windows with glazing bars. 3 gabled roof dormers with fixed windows of
small panes and glazing bars. Painted weather-boarded lucum at gable end.
Large internal stack at left hand gable of mill. Curved shaped buttress
to front. Water wheel removed c1939. Mill in use until 1965. Mill House
attached to watermill. 2 bays, C18, extended by 2 bays to left, c1880,
under continuous roof. Colourwashed brick with dentil cornice, pantile
roof. Two storeys and attic. Off-centre door in 2nd bay has 4 panels, upper
2 glazed; Wooden doorcase c1880 has 2 columns and 2 round pilasters
supporting a flat canopy with decorative fretwork verge from parts brought
together. Sash windows of c1880. 2 gabled roof dormers, c1880, with
casements. Central axial stack at former gable end.
