House. Circa 1700, but confusingly dated with iron letters on face
1 6 0 3. Third symbol Greek letter Phi. Brick. Black glazed pantiles to
facade, red to rear. 2 storeys in 6 bays. Facade with burnt headers. Late
C18 doorcase with open pediment and 6-vaned fanlight. C20 half glazed door.
2 eccentrically placed 3-light C18 casements to ground floor under gauged
skewback arches. Elaborately moulded projecting platband at first floor
with tiled top. Under this are the dating letters. 6 renewed cross casements
to first floor. Gabled roof. Shaped gables on moulded brick kneelers.
Internal end stacks and ridge stack left of centre. Platband continues into
returns. Rear is studded by C19 and 20 outshuts. In roof 3 C20 sloping
dormers. One storey extension to north C18. Saw-toothed eaves cornice and
gabled roof, pantiled. Interior retains original fireplace in lounge; header
bond brick and truncated bressummer. Upper fireplaces have hollow and roll
moulded surrounds. Roof-of 2 tiers butt purlins. Collars are lap jointed
into principals.
