Stables and coach house, now garages, with enclosing courtyard walls; early
C19, probably by H. & J.A. Repton. Pebble flint with gault brick dressings,
slate roof. Coach house range to north, forward wings to left and right
to south. Coach house: 3 bays, plus lower single bay at either gable end,
2 storeys; vertical flush stripes in gault brick to left and right of
facade; large doors across ground floor; 3 sashes with glazing bars 5 panes
wide under flat arches to first floor; central axial clock turret in wood
with bell under leaded cupola having gilded weather vane; sashes with glazing
bars, 5 panes wide to ground and first floor of gable ends, vertical flush
stripes in gault brick to centre. Stables: single storey wings projecting
forward from lower end bays of coach house; each with large garage doors
to centre flanked by sashes with glazing bars 5 panes wide; no internal
fittings. Dog kennel: attached to east wall of east stable wing, mid C19;
pebble flint with gault brick dressings, slate roof; c.2m wide, coped roof,
front gable of gault brick with semi-circular headed arch; kennel is by
entrance to service yard. Enclosing walls of stable yard in pebble flint
with gault brick dressings.
