Farmhouse. Circa 1830s. Plastered clay lump on brick plinth. Steeply
pitched pantile roof with gable end with barge boards to deep verges.
Symmetrically placed brick axial stacks. Plan: T-shaped on plan. 2-
room-plan front range with central lobby entrance to straight stairs
rising between 2 central axial stacks; service wing at rear with
kitchen and dairy behind and with pantry in single storey outshut in
rear right-hand (SW) angle. Detached outhouse range immediately behind
(S) of rear wing. Exterior: 2 storeys and attic. Symmetrical 2-window
north front. 3-light wooden mullion windows with diamond pattern
leaded panes and central iron frame casement. Central gabled porch
with plank door and monogram above 'RSA'. Similar 1, 2 and 3-light
windows in gable end and in rear wing. Single storey outshut on west
side of rear wing with lean-to pantile roof. Interior: Remarkably
complete with most of the features and joinery intact including
panelled and plank doors, chimneypieces with iron grates, balustrade
at top of stairs, brick kitchen fireplace and ovens and boiler to
side, brick arcaded shelves in dairy and wide elm floor boards in
attic chamber. Including detached outhouse range immediately south at
rear of rear wing; plastered walls on brick plinth, gable-ended
pantile roof with louvred ventilator in weatherboarded gable end and
plank doors.
