connecting structures,

north of Costessey Park

1784 attributed to Sir John Soane. Walls red brick with slate roofs.
Barn with stable-block and byre set at right angles to it and connected
to it by single-storeyed structures of curvilinear plan. Stable-block
2 storeyed with central pediment and hipped roof. 6 semi-circular
headed windows to rear with moulded brick hood moulds. 2 lunettes to
upper storey. Windows at front mainly C20. Circular clock recess in
pediment, simple dentilled cornice, louvred vent on roof ridge and some
original stable furniture. Barn has outshut with catslide roof, lunettes
in gables and semi-circular headed windows with hood-moulds to out shut.
Strutted king post roof. Byre single-storeyed with one side open.
