3/11 Mill House

2.10.51 II

Former mill house. Early C18 and later. Rendered and colourwashed brick with
pantiled roofs. 2 storeys and 3 bays extended by one bay in c.1960. Simple
doorcase with reeded pilasters to panelled front door. Sash windows with glazing
bars in upper sashes only. Elaborate moulded brick cornice. Steep-pitched roof
With, originally, a central axial stack. Early C19 2-storeyed long extension
to rear; some original casements with horizontal glazing bars and a saw-tooth
cornice. Barrel-vaulted passage through stack and an C18 fire-surround.
