4/51 The Old Hall

29.11.59 II

Farmhouse. Dated 1664 on north gable with an C18 L-shaped side extension
and a C20 rear extension. Brick with black pantiled roofs. 2 storeys
with attic. Early C19 facade with roughly 5 bays of C20 sash windows
with glazing bars and blind boxes beneath skewback arches. C20 rectangular
bay window also with sashes. Central front door with raised and fielded
panels and a pedimented doorcase. Moulded cornice. Original north gable-
end (formerly crow-stepped) with a later external stack and a re-set
moulded-brick datestone. Original gable-end stack to south. Original
steep-pitched roof with 3 gabled - dormers - to rear. C18 side extension
of 2 storeys with a plinth, plat-band, dentiled cornice and hipped roof.
