2/31 The Old Rectory


Former rectory. Mainly C18 with earlier and later parts. Small section
rendered timber frame. Otherwise lime-washed brick. Modern plaintiled
roofs. Small 3-bay timber frame with a large Georgian extension now
forming main facade and Victorian extension to rear. C17 timber frame
of 2 storeys with attic and C18 fenestration on south gable-end with
metal casements. External stack added to east. Single storeyed service
wings to east and north. C18 south facade of 2 storeys and 5 bays of
sash windows with glazing bars beneath skewback arches with cambered
soffits at ground floor. Central front door with simple doorcase
formerly flanked by narrow windows. Plain platband Western end of
roof hipped.
