Hill House (formerly

House, early 17th century with 18th century remodelling. Timber framed,
rendered and colourwashed. Steeply pitched black glazed pantile roof. Two
storeys and attic. L-shaped plan. South facade symmetrical, of three bays;
3-light casements with glazing bars. Central doorway with rusticated wooden
surround and lead-covered canopy. Four panelled half-glazed entrance door.
Wooden eaves cornice. Parapet gables with internal chimney stacks. Two
gabled roof dormers with 2-light casements with glazing bars. Blocked attic
window in east gable. Lower 1½ storey wing to north with 20th century case-
ments and flat roofed dormer on west. Internal gable stack, lean-to at north
gable. Catslide extension on north side of main range with 20th century
casements and two flat roofed dormers. Interior: timber frame largely intact
with arch - braced tie beams at first floor level. 3-light first floor case-
ment window with hollow chamfered wooden mullions in east gable. Butt-purlin
roof with chamfered collars to principals, partly re-worked at west end.
North wing has some blocked windows with diamond mullions.
