Country house. Mid C18. Red brick, black glazed pantiled roof. Three
storeys, 2 1/2 storeys at rear. Facade of five bays, symmetrical, the centre
three bays slightly advanced. Sashes, all ground floor and two first floor
windows without glazing bars. Gauged brick arches over openings. Louvred
shutters to all windows. Central door with six flush panels; rectangular
fanlight with decorative glazing bars. Portico on Tuscan columns. Moulded
brick string courses at floor levels. Wooden modillion eaves cornice. C19
canted bays on each gable with tripartite sashes with glazing bars and ground
floor glazed doors. Gable parapets. Lower 2 1/2 storey range to rear with large
axial stack. Two gabled dormers to west. Casements with glazing bars, some
C20 replacments. Small, hipped plain-tiled projection on north-west corner.
Some blind segmental-headed openings in east side. Interior: good staircase
with wall panelling, three turned balusters per tread and carved tread ends.
