7/80 The Old Parsonage

- II

Former vicarage, now old peoples' home. C18. Red brick with black glazed
pantile roof. 2 storeys and attics. Principal facade to north: five bays
with a later additional bay to the east, slated. Sashes with glazing bars
with rubbed skewback arches over openings. Central doorway with six-panel
door; doorcase with open pediment on fluted pilasters. Semicircular fan-
light with web-pattern glazing bars. Two flat-roofed attic dormers with
square 6-light sashes. Parapet gables with internal stacks. Chimney stack
off centre to the west, on ridge line. Later parapeted extensions to south
forming double pile with two large unequal square bays; sashes without
glazing bars and large C20 casements. Two storey range with hipped slate
roof in south-east angle.
