House, former parsonage, C16 with later facings, red brick encasings, timber
framed, wattle and daub, flint and rendered. Thatched roof. 2 cells with
central chimney bay, later end bay to north. 2 storeys. First floor with
complete timber frame. Facade to east: brick skin in Flemish bond, rendered
off-centre axial stack left; later end bay to right with hipped roof. Ground
floor first cell with blocked opening and 2-light casement under segmental
arches; early C20 bay window and 1 blocked opening under segmental arch
to cell 2; first floor with 3 2-light casements. South return to road of
broken flint, offset gable above of brick, 3-light casement. North return
to right with single-storeyed additional attached range; gable rendered,
tie beam exposed. Facade to west: brick skin, C17 brick and flint to lower
right quoin; 2 ground-floor and 2.first-floor. 2-light casements; small
opening to ground floor chimney bay; doorway to right, lean-to under black
glazed pantiles to left. Interior: stack enclosed to ground floor; first
floor rail to east facade of central cell. First floor with complete exposed
timber frame, wattle and daub infill; curved braces to main trusses,
including trusses enclosing stack. First floor of cell 1 with C16 4-light
opening now blocked having 3 chamfered lozenge mullions. Roof variously
renewed. Trusses enclosing chimney bay with queen struts, partition between
chimney bay and first cell of wattle and daub. The parish of Keswick was
amalgamated with Intwood 1597; the house remained the parsonage until 1845.
