Cottage, C16; timberframed with rendering, pantiles. 2½ bays and chimney
bay; single storey and attic. Off centre axial stack to right. Half bay
to left with door and mid-C20 3-light casement; left cell with late C20
opening of 3 large fixed lights; doorway to chimney bay; 3-light casement
to right cell. 2 gabled roof dormers. right return of brick, left return
rendered, off-set at eaves level, doorway below eaves level. Rear with
outshut to rear of left bay and half bay in rendered C18 brick, roof raking
from main roof. Interior: large central stack with stair to rear; inserted
C17 floor with large joists, lambs tongue stops to beams. Timber studs
to partition between half bay and left cell with chamfered doorway, now
blocked. First floor: partition between left cell to half bay with curved
braces to ties; 3-tier roof with continuous clasped purlins, 2 collars per
truss; timber studding between lower collar and tie. Small opening, now
blocked, with lozenge mullion between cells to front of stall; former window
openings below wall plate of left cell and to north gable of half bay, both
now blocked.
