Milestone, late C18, limestone. Wedgeshaped with rounded cap, lm high, tapering
from 12 to 30cm. Narrow edge inscribed SWARDESTON; recessed full width panels
inscribed NORWICH/4/MILES and NEW BUCKENHAM/ll/MILES. Above each panel a small
square indent with rivet. The road was turnpiked in 1772.
