CHEDGRAVE NORWICH ROAD,
TM 39 NE South side

GV II

Country house. Early/mid C19. Gault brick; hipped slate roof with lead flat.
Two storeys, attics and cellar. Principal facade to north symmetrical of
five bays with later three bay, two-storey and two bay, one-storey extensions
to west. Sashes with glazing bars, flat gauged arches over openings. Central
doorway with six panelled part-glazed door and rectangular fanlight with
decorative glazing bars. Portico on fluted Doric columns. Eaves soffit with
plain wooden brackets. Central chimney stack. East wall has central doorway
with semicircular head and blind opening above; two plate glass sashes and
pair of glazed doors with square bay window above on coved base. Rear
elevation of six bays: sashes, with glazing bars remaining in one ground floor
and two first floor windows. Blind boxes to ground and first floor windows.
One ground floor and three first floor bays have blind openings. Pair of
glazed doors in second bay from east. Two chimney stacks symmetrically-
placed. Curved screen wall to garden at north-east corner; curved garden
wall at south-west corner with slated lean-to store on its north side.
