5/32 Barn at Manor Farm
Barn. Dated 1693. Brick with pantile roof. Large barn terminating at both
ends with shaped gables in each of which are tie irons in form of numerals
: 1693. Windows in each gable interrupt eaves line platband. To north is
a central gabled transept entrance with a C20 shaped gable and initials in
tie irons : J.W. Full height timber doors. Opposing, lower, timber doors
in south side. Double saw-toothed eaves cornice below gabled roof. One brick
buttress to right of transept and an outshut to its left. Roof structure
of tie beams on arched braces, Queen struts and 2 tiers purlins. Lower purlins
are butted and staggered, the upper tier are clasped. Cambered collars.
Windbracing below lower purlins to ends only. Manor Farmhouse is not listed.
