4/68 Manor Cottage

Pair of cottages, now one house. C16 and C17, re-faced in C19. Timber
frame, partly brick skinned, partly rendered. Slate and pantile roofs.
2-cell plan with third added cell, outshut to rear. 4 bay facade; left
hand 2 bays of 2 storeys with C19 brick and C19 sash windows with vertical
glazing bars. C19 shutters with Decorated tops to ground floor sash;
doorway with flat hood; 6 panel door, top 2 panels glazed. Sash and small
light to first floor. Right hand 2 bays of 1½ storeys. C19 casement with
small light to its right. Stack to shared gable with 3 lozenge-shaped
shafts. Left hand gable wall wall of brick. Right hand gable wall bricked
to gable; drip board. Interior. Ovolo moulded beam in left hand ground
floor room; timber frame revealed to rear. Arch-braces to wall-plate.
Arched wind braces in butt-purlin roof. Right hand end had coupled rafter
roof and complete timber-frame.
