STOKESBY WITH HERRINGBY

6/51 Barn at Manor Farm

G.V. II

Barn. Mid C17. Brick and flint with thatched roof. One storey with dormered
hay loft. Brick plinth course. Walls of alternate brick headers and whole
flints. West side has 3 pedestrian doors in altered openings, the 2 to the
north hidden behind brick and timber C20 outshut. Gabled roof. East side
has carriage entrance to left and right, the latter with large glazed window
above. 2 blocked doors to centre of elevation. 2 dormers, one through eaves,
the other above eaves and both under eyebrow thatching. Interior floored over
chamfered and tongue stopped bridging beams. Steps at south end lead to hay
loft. No tie beams. Principals, 2 tiers butt purlins and 2 tiers of collars.
Tie beam function taken by the lower bridging beams.
