6/1 The Old Kings Arms


C18 former public house. Double fronted, 2 storeys of colourwashed brick with
black and red pantiled roof. Early C19 range to road. Storey height splayed bay
windows with sashes, either side of central half glazed panel door with timber door-
case. Gable chimneystacks. Rear range circa 1700, modillion and dentil eaves,
stringcourse, gable chimneystack and brick tumbling-in. Two early C18 sash windows
with glazing bars. Re-used C18 reticulated tracery windows on rear lean-to. Settles
and interior detail intact. Reverend Thomas Quarles M.A., R.N. History and
Antiquities of Foulsham, 1842.
