19.1.52 Church Farm House


C17 farmhouse of brick, flint and render with red and black pantiled roof. Two
storey. Rear range of first half C19. Facade of red brick, added in C19 with
3 bays of sash windows with flat gauged brick arches. Doorcase with reeded pilasters
and entablature. Parapet eaves, original parapet gables with end chimneys, with (to
the right) a pair of polygonal chimney shafts. At the rear, render above a flint
plinth. Rear range of 2 builds, the latter with curved gable and glazed brick headers.
Scattered fenestration of sash windows and one blocked mullioned and transom window.
Single storey C18 additions, that to the west with glazed headers, and to the east,
flint with brick dressings. Brick wall to right of facade, of brick with glazed
headers, contains blocked door and 2 blocked windows with flat gauged brick arches.
Garden wall with wrought iron railings to the right, and curving to the left into the
farmyard. Flint garden wall between the kitchen garden and the Old Rectory.
