House. C16 and later : dated 1525 in dark brick in east gable. Red brick
with some diaper patterning; steeply-pitched pantile roofs. Two storeys and
attics; L-shaped plan. North facade with cross-casement windows with leaded
glazing. Windows irregularly-spaced; rubbed brick arches over ground floor
openings. Lower range to east with off-centre chimney stack with four octa-
gonal shafts, moulded bases and linked caps. Moulded brick eaves course,
crow-stepped east gable with internal chimney stack. West range has traces
of diapering; blocked openings with rubbed brick arches. Parapeted and coped
gables with moulded finials; stack at east gable with three square shafts
on moulded brick base. South facade has traces of diapering; attic gable
with large sun-dial. Two first floor casements, ground floor openings blocked
and altered. Projecting gabled stair turret off-centre with casements with
leaded glazing. 2½ storey range on right hand side: brickwork at ground floor
level projects and is pantiled. Three first floor mullioned windows with
plain, hollow chamfer and ovolo-moulded mullions (from west to east). Three
gabled dormers with two light casements. Openings much altered in south wing:
two and three light casements with some leaded glazing surviving. Four gabled
dormers. Parapeted gable with brick tumbling: gable chimney stack. Coped
red brick boundary wall on north and east sides.
