House, late C17/early C18. Red brick, partly colourwashed, with some flint
and limestone dressings. Roofs steeply-pitched, pantiled and plaintiled.
Two storeys and attics, T-shaped plan. Main facade to east : three bays, two-
and three-light casements with mullions and transoms; ground floor openings
altered. String course of limestone blocks at first floor level. Plinth of
limestone, rendered over and 'ashlared'. Rusticated brick quoins. Central
four-panel door, moulded wooden doorcase with key block and dentilled frieze.
Lead-covered canopy with modillions. Modillion eaves cornice. Two gabled
dormers with two-light casements. Shaped north and south gables with internal
stacks. Blocked attic window and two sashes with architraves and glazing bars
in south gable. Large external stack on south-west side now capped-off at
eaves level. Later one-storey hipped wing at north gable. Rear wing of brick,
partly colourwashed, with sashes and 'cross' casements. C20 flat roofed
additions on north side. Axial chimney stack; parapeted west gable with
internal stack. On south side later segmental-headed wide sash windows with
glazing bars, semi-circular headed doorway with half-glazed door and leaded
side-lights.
