Country House, c1780 with later alterations and additions. Rendered and colourwashed with slate roofs.

'U'-shaped plan, five storeys. The interior of the U filled by one and a half storey C19 library wing to north and extended with C19 range to west. Two semi-circular bays to the south. Extending south from the western corner, C19 Palladian style orangery, now without cupola. Earlier core facade to south, a.b.c.b.a., with three windows in the bays, which have late C19 cast iron balconies. Three central windows with shallow projecting central section. Later west wing two windows. C20 loggia connects to orangery. Sash windows with moulded stucco architraves.

Orangery of cast iron and glass on brick and stone plinth with brick walls to north and west. Cruciform in plan with pedimented gables. East section divided into three by slender columns with capitals. Glazing bars from semi-circular heads. Library wing on orth elevation has projecting centre section of three storey height sash windows, flanked by side sections each with glazed doors with oculus above. Stucco pilasters at the angles. Heavy plain cornice and parapet. North projecting wings have sash windows, those to the west with glazing bars.

Roofs hipped with timber cornice and paired brackets. Eight stucco chimney stacks with wide cornice and varied numbers of gault clay pots. Attached western lean-to, hipped gault brick blocks and single storey additions not of special interest. Recent single storey day room extension to east. Hall has good C18 staircase, Decorated panelling with frieze and segmental archway supported on fluted Ionic columns. Ground floor rooms have Decorated plaster cornices. Good C18 fire surround in former library. Former dining room has good carved timber fire surround. Edwardian detail on first floor landing. Humphry Repton landscaped the park in 1788 said to be his first commission.
