Former manor house dating from C15 now divided into two dwellings. Built of
brick and flint, brick and rendered timber frame with thatched roof. 2 storeys
with attics, and single storey extension to south. West facade refaced in
brick in C19. 6 windows symmetrically aranged at first floor level, a-b-a,
a-b-a. Part glazed 6 panel doors on ground floor with raised and fielded
panels. Timber doorcase with projecting cornice on consoles. 3-light windows
with transoms, wrought iron casements and segmental brick arches Rear wall
jettied, with step adjacent to tapered external C16 chimney stacks. Brick
and flint wall below jetty, much altered but with blocked C16 opening next
to stack, and late C19 insertions. 3-light chamfered timber mullion window
on first floor, with C18 2 and 3-light windows with wrought iron casements.
North gable wall C16, of brick and flint, with plinth and moulded brick kneelers
to jetty and eaves. South gable, C18 brick, with platband at first floor level.
Parapet verges and gable stacks. South gable wall of single storey wing, C16
and C18, of knapped flint for half its height, then brick. Timber mullioned
windows under segmental brick arch at ground floor and flat arch at first floor.
Platband at eaves level.
