TG 31 SW SALIiOUSE LOWER STREET north side

7/73 Braemar.

G.V. II

House, dated E.M. 1714 in iron tie-plates at upper floor level, but possibly
with earlier core. Red brick with reed thatched roof. 1½ storeys. Facade
to street symmetrical : one and two-light windows with hollow-chamfered reveals
and mullions. Square drip moulds over window openings. Segmental relieving
arches over ground floor openings. Central doorway with small canopy on timber
brackets. Small stone tablet over door, not fully decipherable, but bearing
the name Ed. Melver. Scalloped fascia board. Parapeted gables with roll-
moulded copings and internal chimney stacks. Later lean-to's at east and
west gables. C20 attic casements in gables.
