TG 30 NW BLOFIELD YARMOUTH ROAD

7/12 Turrett House.
II

House dated 1831, built for himself by John Withers, Bricklayer. Red brick
with slate roof. Double depth plan with single lean-to wing to west. Gothick
design of 3 bays. The central bay set slightly forward and containing a single
storey porch. 4 centred arch into porch, with dated sundial above. Polygonal
buttresses, cement finials and battlemented parapets. Sundial above entrance.
Inside entrance door, glazed, with Gothick panels, blank tracery in
spandrels, and panelled reveals. Sash windows in outer bays with glazing
bars, 4 centred arched traceried heads, hood moulds and stone sills. Polygonal
buttresses at the angles with cement finials. Cement moulded string course
at first floor and eaves level. Tall battlemented parapet verge and eaves,
masking the roof. Gabled roof with two internal stacks in valley. East
elevation, 2 windows inserted C20 top hung casements. Interior intact. Small
geometrical stair. Moulded plaster cornices and ceiling roses. Gothick
panelled doors and doorcases.
