Thatched Cottage.

House, early C17; much altered and renovated. Red brick, steeply pitched
reed-thatched roof. 12 storeys, former lobby entrance plan (door now blocked)
T-shaped, with C20 extension at north-west corner. Windows all C20 replace-
ments : standard casements with glazing bars. Range of six windows to east,
openings much altered. Brickwork in English bond with traces of diapering.
Three dormers with swept roofs. Off-centre axial stack with three attached
octagonal shafts on moulded brick base. Parapeted and coped gables with
tumbling-in and platband on south. Internal chimney stack on north gable.
1½ storey gabled wing to west with rendered chimney stack on north side.
