Cartshed. Mid-late C18, re-roofed by mid-C19. Built for the Walpole family. Brick, with vitrified bricks randomly used within the walling, beneath a thatched roof. FRONT (west) ELEVATION: single-storeyed, open-fronted 7-bay cart shed, with the right-hand bay enclosed by original brick dividing wall and front double doors. Right-hand gable considerably rebuilt.
INTERIOR: roof trusses with nailed, lapped and dovetailed collars, rough-hewn tie beams and butt-purlins. Some re-used timbers, notably 2 queen struts. The cartshed forms a group with the nearby STOCK HOUSE (item 7/35) and the BARN ( item 7/37).
