GV II
Former house, now public house. Late C16 with C17 onwards additions
and alterations. Flint with stone dressings and plinth. C19 and
C20 brick dressings and alterations. Pantile roofs. Long range along
St. Clements Alley with rear extensions at west and along Fye Bridge
Street. St. Clements Alley elevation: 2 storeys plus semi-basement.
6 windows at first floor, plus gable-end at extreme left. C20 central
door. C18 door to the left with pedimented hood. Yard entry with C17
surround and loading door at extreme right. 3 semi-basement windows.
Sashes and casements at ground floor. Frieze windows and one mullion
and transom window at first floor. 3 gabled dormers with casement
windows. West gable partly re-built. Initials A.T. in stone kneeler.
Street facade:- rebuilt C19 in road-widening for trams. 2 storeys.
2 first floor windows. Long pub front with end doors. Mullion and
transom first floor windows, the right-hand window in a recessed canted
bay. Overhanging eaves cornice.
