Former office now part of department store. 1896 by G. Skipper. Brick and
terracotta. 3 storeys. 2 bays. Extravagent use of architectural and
figurative detail. C20 shopfront extended from Nos. 1 to 5 shallow-canted
first floor oriel windows on arched supports with 2 tiers of arcaded windows
topped by frieze. Round-arched 2nd floor windows with flanking basket-arched
windows. Central and end polygonal pilasters with moulded segmental arches at
2nd floor. 2 dormer gables with occuli above cornice band. Small end and
central turrets. Interior:- fine plaster-work ceiling at first floor.
