- II*
Former hall-house. C15 onwards. Post world-war II renovations. Flint-
rubble, rendered on street range. Brick. Rendered timber frame at first
floor on street range. Thatch roof partly pantiled on street range. L-
shape plan. 2 storeys, jettied at first floor. Originally open-halled in
rear range. Street range:- 2 windows to right-side of first floor. Central
blocked doorway with sash window to right and casement to left. Passage-
entry at extreme left. Sash windows with glazing bars at first floor. Over-
hanging eaves supported on ironwork brackets. Fascia cornice beneath pantiles
to left-side. Rear range:- 3 first floor windows. Doors at extreme right-
hand side and left-hand off-centre. Right-hand door with brick pointed-arch.
Sash, mullion and transome and frieze windows. Interior;- timber-framed
wall with 2 doorways dividing rear range from street range. Full height
stone oriel arch with shield spandrels. Fine queen-post roof with moulded
ties and upward raking struts from queen-post to rafter with pierced upper
spandrels.
