Includes No.2A, Meeting Lane.
School house and chapel, now house and studio. Mid C18 and early C19. Squared
coursed limestone with ashlar facade and concrete tile roof. 3-unit plan. 2
storeys with attic. 4-window range of cross casements with glazing bars under
stone lintels with keyblocks. C19 plank door to centre, with fanlight, and C20
door to far left both under stone lintels with keyblocks. Central C20 roof
dormer. Ashlar gable parapets and kneelers and ashlar stacks with moulded
cornices at ridge and ends. Gable to left, abutting road, is similar. Rear has 2
stone mullion windows. Former chapel, probably early C19, abutts right gable and
is 2-window range of tall casements under wood lintels. Gable to right has plain
arch-head window opening and elevation to rear, abutting Meeting Lane, has
similar window. C20 door to right. Interior of house not inspected but noted as
having panelled window reveals. Interior of chapel retains gallery, remodelled
C20.
