SP88SW St.Peter's Spring Bath House

II
Remains of bath house. Probably mid C19 but possibly earlier
origin. Coursed limestone and ironstone rubble, formerly with
glazed roof. Rectangular building, round-headed entrance to
north with Latin inscription above. East side has 3 niches,
probably for statues. Interior contained bath, and opposite
the entrance a reclining figure of a woman, with a verse by
Thomas Warton inscribed above.
