2 houses now one farmhouse. C17 and C18 linked mid C19 probably by Bryan
Browning for Burghley House estate. Squared coursed limestone with Collyweston
slate roof. Each originally 2-unit plans, now irregular double depth. Single
storey with attic and 2 storeys with attic. Main front is a 4-window range with
3, C19, sash windows under stone lintels, to centre and left, and a C19 wooden
canted bay window to far right. 3 eaves dormers, with rendered gablets, to
attic. Blocked opening to left of bay window. Ashlar gable parapets to right and
brick and stone stacks at ridge. Side elevation, to right, has 2 gable end walls
of the former separate dwellings; these are linked by a C19 lean-to porch, with
a 6-panel door. 2- and 3-light stone mullion windows to gable ends. Rear range
has narrow gabled projection, to right of porch, which also has 2-light stone
mullion windows. All gables have ashlar parapets. Rear elevation has one 3-light
stone mullion window, sash and casement windows and one eaves dormer. Bay to
right projects forward. Gable end to right of rear elevation also has stone
mullion windows. Interior not inspected but noted as having reset C17 panelling.
