18/68 Laundry and game larder
approx. 30m. NW of Ecton Hall

GV II

Laundry and game larder. Probably mid C18 and C19 for Ecton Hall estate. Squared
coursed ironstone and lias with slate roof. L-shape plan. Part 2 storeys.
Laundry entrance front is single storey of 4-window range of tall sashes with
glazing bars under gauged stone arches. Central C19 plank door has simiar head.
Hipped roof with truncated brick stack at eaves. Game larder to rear of laundry
has 2-storey single-unit larder to right of range with canted corners and 3-bay
range of iron barred and gauzed casements under wood lintels. Central C19 door.
Pyramid roof with deep soffit to shade windows. Single-storey ranges to left and
right of larder have C19 plank doors and casements. Ashlar gable parapets and
kneelers to left. Interior not inspected.
