Stables and domestic buildings, now three dwellings, shop and changing rooms to
golf club. Probably late C17 and early C18 altered C19 and C20. Squared coursed
limestone and lias and lias ashlar with copper and Collyweston slate roofs.
Together comprising a T-shape plan. 2 storeys, Main front has C18 eight-window
range to right of sash windows with glazing bars and plain stone architraves.
Shallow pitched roof not visible with 2 tall stone stacks. C18 and C19 centre
range projects at right angles is 8-window range of sashes with glazing bars at
first floor. Ground floor has some C20 windows and doors. Dentilled wood cornice
and shallow domed roof. Late C17 and C19 Hall Cottages attached to left are a
9-window range of C20 casements in original openings under stone lintels with
keyblocks. 4 blocked carriage arches at ground floor have three C20 doors
between window ranges. Ashlar gable parapets and kneelers. Pitched roof with
ashlar stacks at ridge and end. Panelled tablet in centre. C18 gatepier attached
to right of centre range. Rear has some cross windows under wood lintels.
Interior not inspected. Forms part of a group with and is attached to north of
Harrowden Hall (q.v.). The gardens and park are included in the HBMC County
Register of Gardens at Grade II*.
