GV II

Pair of cottages. C17. Coursed limestone and ironstone rubble, thatched roof,
brick stacks. 2 storeys, 5 bays. No.11 has doorways in right bay and third
bay from right with wood lintels and C20 partly glazed doors. Doorway in third
bay from right has thatched hood. Between them is window with C20 wood lintel
and 3-light casement. Similar window in left bay. Window in left bay, first
floor has C18/C19 four-light iron casement. Two C20 windows to right. C17
wood muilioned window at rear on first floor. Entrance to No.9 at rear. Front
first floor windows have C18/C19 wood lintels and casements. Ground floor
windows have C20 metal casements. Semi-circular stair turret at rear.
Interior: No.11 has stop-chamfered spine beams and joists and open fireplace
with original bressumer. Interior: No.9 not inspected but newel staircase is
said to have been removed.
