House. C17/C18 with early C19 facade. Ironstone ashlar and squared coursed
stone, slate and tile roofs brick stacks. T-plan. 2 storeys and attic, 3 bays.
Central doorway has plain stone jambs, half-glazed door with overlight and porch
with stone jambs and timber pediment. Tri-partite sash windows with stone
mullions and plain stone frames on either side. Similar windows in outer bays on
first floor and in attic. Plain sash window to centre of first floor and attic.
Double gabled wing at rear, of C17/C18, altered C19, has casement windows with
wood lintels and coped gable end with kneelers. Interior not inspected. Was the
Rectory until the mid C19. (Described in S.J. Tyrell "A Countryman's Tale"
London, 1973).
