House. C17/C18. Refronted 1801 (Datestone). Brick facade, coursed limestone
rubble at rear and sides, slate roof, brick stacks. 2 storeys, 5 bays. Doorway
second bay from right has wood frame with fluted Doric pilasters, straight
entablature and panelled reveals. 6-panel door with overlight. All windows have
straight rendered lintels and 2-light casements with wood mullions and transoms.
Datestone in left bay, first floor 1638 / GIF / 1801 /I.W. Lower extension to
left is part stone, part brick. One bay, 2 storey. Doorway with rendered lintel
and 6-panel door with overlight (Said to have been moved c.1900 from left side
facing street). Extension to right C20. Interior: Remodelled early C19 with open
well staircase of this date having tread ends carved with scrolls and curved
hand rail. Ground floor room with C18/C19 wooden panelling and frieze carved
with grape vine. Doorcases with fluted pilasters and panelled doors.
