Pair of cottages. Early C18. Coursed ironstone rubble, artificial stone slate
roof, brick stacks. 2 storeys, 6 bays. Thorpe Cottage to left has doorway to
right of centre with wood lintel and C20 half-glazed door. 2-light window on
either side with wood lintel and C20 wood casements. Similar window on first
floor. Castle Farm Cottage to right has 3 windows on each floor with wood
lintels and 2- and 3-light C20 wooden casements. Entrance at rear. Interior:
Thorpe Cottage has set of chamfered beams on ground floor and open fireplace
with bread oven. Interior of Castle Farm Cottage not inspected but said to have
similar beams and open fireplace. Included for group value.
