Pair of cottages. Mid C18 in 2 builds. Coursed squared limestone, slate roofs,
brick end stacks to each. Both have 2-unit plans. 2-storey, 4-window range.
Springfield Cottage to left is earlier and has central 4-panel door with
straight hood and wood lintel. The Cottage has similar central door. 2-light
casement windows to ground and first floor, all with wood lintels. Springfield
Cottage has blocked central first floor window and stone-coped gables with
kneelers. Interior: Springfield Cottage has chamfered spine beams and
stone-flagged floors. The Cottage has chamfered spine beams and open fireplace
with cambered chamfered bressumer and bread oven.
