GV II

Pair of shops and dwellings. Late C18/early C19. No.114 of red brick in Flemish
bond with some flared headers, No.116 is rendered. Slate roofs, brick ridge
stacks. One-unit plans. 3-storey, 2-window range. C19 shop fronts to ground
floor, each with central door flanked by bays with moulded wood cornices carried
over doors as hoods. Bay windows all have cellar window gratings. Each has
central canted bay window to first floor. No.114 has 8-pane sash window to attic
floor with flat-arched head. No. 116 has tripartite sash window, with central
sash replaced by C20 casement. Bracketed wood eaves to No. 116, brick dentilled
eaves to No.114. Interiors not inspected.
