9/127 Wall north-east of
Lemmington Hall
with range of
outbuildings
attached to rear
GV II

Garden wall, C18, with kennel/forge/stable/cartshed/workshop range dated 1918.
Wall coursed tooled stone with cut dressings; outbuildings roughly-coursed
rubble with rock-faced-and-margined dressings and red clay tile roof.

Very tall section at west end castellated with 2 large stepped buttresses
behind. Next section, almost as tall but with flat coping, ramped down at
right with a ball finial; to rear is a 1-storey, 5-bay outbuilding range;
symmetrical with plinth. Central double doors under raised parapet on mask
corbels with re-used central wreath enclosing datestone. Flanking bays each
have central door between segmental-headed windows with iron lattice glazing.
All doors are ledged and boarded, with interlaced heads. Two lower castellated
sections of wall to east,stepped down, with a ball finial at the step, linking
to brick wall around garden (q.v.).

Long lean-to shed on south side of third section of wall is not of interest.
